Jessica and Erin live in Seattle but choose Petaluma, the town where Jessica grew up, as the place for their engagement portraits. Jessica is a good friend of mine; we were rowdy teenagers together. Before the shoot I spent some time riding my bike around town checking out possible locations, most of them on the pastoral outskirts of town, with the rolling hills that surround Petaluma in the background. Later on the phone with Jessica, on a whim, I mentioned the old industrial waterfront in downtown Petaluma- she loved the idea! And was perfect for them. They both have a fondness for industrial landscapes and in fact almost bought a home in West Seattle overlooking the city’s massive port. Leave it to an electrician and a gal in marine construction to opt for the offbeat choice.
So on a crisp afternoon we headed out to the Foundry Wharf for the shoot… and what follows will warm your heart.
Jessica and Erin have a true love for one another, they’re like best friends. Erin, thanks for making my friend so happy. I wish you two all the best. You’re fantastic together. See you guys in August at your wedding celebration.
