Earlier this year in May I posted some photos from the Ellipsis Wines private release party for the first tastings of their 2011 Russian River Valley Rosé of Pinot Noir and the 2011 Oakville Napa Valley Rosé of Sangiovese. This was an intimate affair with mostly family and friends enjoying the refreshing wines and BBQ at the private Seven Arches Vineyards.
Since then I’ve been invited back up to Seven Arches Vineyard in Cloverdale to photograph the Ellipsis Team (including Rusty the company’s mascot a Boston Terrier). Co-owners Jonathan Neisingh and Christopher Sevilla are life-long friends who share a passion for outstanding wines. Together with the help of Winemaker David Sundberg these guys have cracked the code for delicious and the critics have gotten wind. Earlier this year they took home multiple medals from the SF Chronicle Wine Competition, including Gold Medal for their 2009 Napa Valley Petite Sirah “Barberis Vineyard”. If you haven’t already tried Ellipsis Wines make sure to order some today! No really, they completely sold out of the Rosé 2010 Russian River Rosé after it was featured in the Press Democrat last year.
While on the shoot Devika Maskey, Ellipsis’ PR Manager, spoke about the company’s future plans to open a public tasting room at Seven Arches. They’re currently renovating a turn of the century barn made with redwood that is believed to have been found onsite at the vineyard. What a gorgeous red barn! I’ll definitely be back up to check that out once it’s completed. Until then I am counting down till Ellipsis’ harvest party this autumn.
